A scare and Bed REst! 3/29/2013
So this is the end of week 1 of bed rest. On Monday April 1st the doctor will determine if I can go back (3/ to work.
BUT...let's start at the beginning...
Last Wednesday 3/20, I noticed some spotting. Freaked me out a little. So I decided to lay down drink some water and relax to count kicks. Well baby decided to be very quiet and only kicked 4 times in an hour. So I put in a call to my doctor. The nurse phoned me back and asked me to come over to the hospital to get checked out. At this point I was freaking out. Jason was still at work so my mom came and got me. When we got to the hospital (at least I know where L and D is now) I was hooked up to the monitors. When they found the heartbeat I immediately started crying, it took about a half an hour for the baby to get annoyed and start kicking at them. The nurse came in and said we are going to get you an ultrasound.
The ultrasound was scary! the tech was very grumpy and won't let me see anything for 30 minutes and didn't say a word. Just made grumpy faces!!! Finally at around 9pm, she let me see the little one, it was sucking its thumb with its right hand. It was laying on the it's side all snuggly. Well around 10 the doctor came in and was like everything looks good so we are going to send you home. BUT first I just need to do a cervical exam (fun, right!) Well as soon as she did that her faced dropped and "No, we are keeping you!" What?! She said I was very soft and dilated to 1 at 30 weeks. EP! She then said she was giving me steroid shots, 2, one now and one 24 hours later. She also said my uterus is irritable. I suck.
The next morning, the doctor released me to my OB doctor appointment. There Dr.Ka decided I was going on bed rest for the next week and on April 1st the doctor is going to give me a FNN test?? I think it will indicate if I am going to go into labor in the next two weeks. So here I am sitting around for a whole week and Friday and its beautiful out. And I can't do anything...but Jason has been wonderful and all my friends have been calling. Everyone has been so supportive:) Thanks!
Anyways here are some pictures of my wonderful bed rest kittens! I also ordered some fun baby stuff online today! yay!

Bedoe Baby Shower 3/3/2013
MY COUSIN IS AMAZING!!
On Sunday the 3rd my cousin through me the most incredible baby shower. It had owls everywhere!! The decorations and favors, were the most incredible things. All of these blue, brown, green, and pink cut out owls.
I am so thankful for all my friends and family that came out to celebrate Baby "E" with me. I received so many generous gifts. The baby got both of it's strollers, Thanks Tracy, Sarah, Aunt Kate, Aunt Linda, and Aunt Shirley. Olivia and Beth got baby the cutest bath things, Jason was really excited about the bubble machine. Aunt Darlene and Uncle Lou thank you so much for all the baby things, including Mat and Tub. Uncle Lou, the owl puppet is perfect :) Also thanks Viola for the beautiful sleepers! A special thanks to Bailey, Nikki, and Grandma Ger!! This baby is spoiled already.
I am also so blessed to have amazing friends. Thank you so much Sandy, Maria, Katie, Laura, and Kerry for using your day off to come hang out at my shower. You guys rock. Andrea, Jackie, Caryn, and Lauren it was great for you to come celebrate baby Ethan or Evelyn. Baby E was so happy to see you!
Christina, you have always been there for me and I can not believe our little ones will have each others. The baby shower was the most beautiful thing in the world. You are so fabulous. I can't wait for baby play dates!

Houses and New House 2/26/3013
In January, Jason and I decided to put our house on the market. After lots of cleaning and de-cluttering, we placed in on the Market at the end of January. One the 26th we got and accepted an offer! YAY we should close April 16th! We also found a new home in Mokena and are hoping to close on the same day.
They new house is incredible, 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. It is blue with white trim. I am so crazy about the fact we will be out of a flood plain, less stairs and a beautiful and large wooded lot. The cats are going to love the large window sills and screened in porch. I put some pictures up for you to see. The house did have some issues that the homeowners are taking care of for us. I can not wait. I feel bad for Jason though he is going to have to do alot of heavy lifting.

OH NO!! 2/22-23/2013
So I am an idiot! At a track meet at the University of Chicago, I was standing on the inside of the track, not on the track, a runner in the boys 4x4 ran into/clipped me with the baton across the belly.
I fell over and grabbed my tummy and started to ball. I was so scared that I had put my little nudger in harms way. There were some moms that came over and got me an athletic trainer. The trainer decided to call an ambulance. All my track girls came over and were rubbing my back and telling me I am ok. I was crying, they were crying. I am suppose to be looking after them. At the hospital I was hooked up to the monitors and my mom, dad, and Jason all made their way to the U of C hospital. They did an exam and an ultrasound, baby was head down sunny side up. The baby didn't kick until, they put the monitors on me. As per protocol they had to keep me over night (8 hours). Around 8:30 the doctors said baby looks good, has lots of padding, and will be alright. My mom took me home around 9 on Saturday, the day they changed hospitals.
I found out earlier that week that good friends of our had lost there baby at 19 weeks due to a chromosomal issue. I feel so bad for them. It is the most horrible thing that I could possible imagine. I called Nikki and Jason crying from school when I found out. RIP Samuel.

Growth Scan 1/21/2013
Sorry this has taken so long to update so much has happened! The growth scan was amazing. Jason and I went to see our little baby. It was great seeing all of the ins and outs of the baby's organs. When the doctor went to show us a 3D face shot however the baby declined and decided it wanted to suck its thumb instead, It was so fabulous watching it do "baby things". I am going to put a picture under this so you can see it. Does it look like me or Jason? Can you see the heart? :)
Back at School 1/11/2013
Happy New Year!
I am finishing my first week back at school. If the rest of the semester is like this it is going to fly by. All of my students are beginning to ask me questions about the baby. It is beginning to kid more frequently. Especially when I am teaching in class. I think I can tell when it is sleeping and not now. I am on a baby birth board through babycenter. The first baby was born in the May group this month. Baby Kaitlyn was born at 23 weeks 6 days and is in the NICU. My thought are with her and her family. I just keeping telling my baby it needs to stay in there for a while!
In decemeber, Jason and I took our moms and nikki to an elective ultrasound to confirm the gender. The baby is stubborn like its dad and wouldn't cooperate. I spent most of the time with my eyes covered because the baby was sitting indian style breach. So I was made to turn, eat chocolate, and stand up several times during the ultrasound, but at least it finally cooperated. We go the 21st to our anatomy scan. I'm super excited!!
Christmas this year was fun. We got to see Kylie, chris, and Haley. My family was really amazing and got the baby presents when we got together for the holidays. Jason and I also regesitered for baby gifts. Hopefully I didn't fail... I'll post more after our anatomy scan.

Oww the pain! 12/7/2012
So the tooth I broke decided to die and get infected. I think Tuesday night was the worse pain I have every been in... I got a full root canal on wednesday and feel so much better. But my jaw is sore from the needle sticks.
Thursday was a much better day I went in for my doctors appointment with hubby. They said all my results were great for my ultrasounds and blood tests. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat which was great after so much tooth stress.
I also think I started feeling the baby move. I know it is early at 15-16 weeks but I feel this light feathery flutter, like a soft brushing in my lower abodmin. Its happening very frequently so I am going with it the baby. In my head I started calling the baby, BBE. Best Baby Ever, not saying your babies aren't good, but to me this is the best baby ever. Sorry I'm a dork. The baby was craving cheese puffs yesterday and chinese food.
I'm excited for this weekend. We get to go to a dinner out with other pregnant moms (note how I am not saying preggo or preggers, I hate those terms it reminds me of my HS students), an Xmas party on Saturday, and a bday/bears game on Sunday.
On another note I picked bedding I think for the baby. babybedding.com is such a cool website...
Here's a sneak peak of possibilites...

This took a long time! 11/28/2012
So here is what has been happening since my last update.
The day after halloween I started spotting for a few days, which completely freaked me out!! So I was seen in for an emergency ultrasound and saw the baby kicking and bouncing around. Oh what a relief!
And then.... I broke a tooth! So I had an emergency root canal like thing, i forgot what it was called, but I couldnt take any pain medicine and my jaw throbbing. (it is still sensitive! grrr)
and then...
I had to leave for the state xc meet the next day. Needless to say Katie my assistant coach was amazing and helped me out with everything!
And then....
I had to defend my thesis the next week.
so....
After all that happened I decided not to write again till after our first trimester screening which was last wednesday 11/21. This ultrasound is from that screening, the little guy is kicking his feet in the air. At the screening Jason found out the sex however I don't want to know till the shower, so he's keeping the big secret. I always refer to the baby as a he but I just had a dream it was a girl! So who knows! Our test results came back Monday and we have a 1 in 10,000 chance the baby will have downs or some of the other disorders it tests for. YAY!
I also finished my master's degree in art history on Tuesday! Best week so far!

Pregnancy update- I have gained 3 lbs in 9.5 weeks. Not to bad I guess. However I feel puffy and think I may need to by a belly band or maternity pants soon! On wednesday I decided to try my sonoline b doppler jason bought me. It was great! I found the heartbeat! It sounded like little galloping horses! I'll post a picture of one. Mine of course is green. Jason today also referred to the baby as a girl again... Im still hoping boy.

Danny! Thursday 10/18/2012
I want to wish a late Happy Bday to my niece Kylie on her big 2!
Danny has left for deployment, its still in the middle east but its suppose to be a safe zone. He should return home in March to Germany. Hopefully after May he will be able to take leave a come home. Apparently there are camal spiders is there! yuck!
I tried my doppler on Tuesday. Since I'm still only in week 8 and my baby is the size of a rasberry I won't here anything for a bit longer, but I figure I'll try again next week. Jason bought me a green Sonoline B, it seems like it will work great, but I'm just to impatient waiting for the little guy to grow. (and yes I think it is a boy, but once again Jason says girl).
Also Heartburn sucks!

Telling the Fam! Tuesday 10/16/2012
Soooo the cats out of the bag! I told my brother on skype Friday when I got home from school. He was really excited and told me his wife wants to name their first son Dragon, it was great. I then surprised my mom and dad when we went to dinner. I think they were excited and happy. Me and mommy started talking about nursery ideas and baby names. I guess they talked to danny on Sunday, but since I told him not to say anything, he couldnt stop smiling in front of my parents on skype. They finally had to tell him they knew.
After we told my parents we went to Jason's famiily and told his dad and sister. We decided Ger would have to be the last to know because we wanted to tell her in person but we felt like we couldn't wait. Nikki and Scott were really Happy, except Nikki was mad I didn't tell her sooner! Scott said we should tell Ger to make sure she came home from Kansas at some point! We sent Chris and Haley pictures, and then we got a phone call from Ger! She was so excited! I can't wait till she comes home so we can order pizza and talk about it. I sent her the link to this website so she could see nursery ideas.
We also told Charlie and Lauren this weekend. They were shocked but so excited. Its really nice that I will be going through this with someone else. I also bought them thier first present, 2 moose baby outfits. We went over to Fran and Jamies on Sunday to let them know to. Jamie started to cry which made me cry to. They were so excited! Jamie also gave me a book on the Bradley Method, yay more reading!
I also gave in on Sunday and got the babyit's first present and owl fleece!

Friday 10/12/2012
I am so exhausted and this day didn't start like I wanted! I had to swing by my parents house this morning becasue my professor sent me a very nasty email this morning about not getting my paper work turned in, which I didn't even know was late or due... Luckily I have an awesome dad and he brought it in for me this morning where the lady told him I wasn't suppose to do this, she was! Ugh!
Anyway I was at school till 10:30 last night for the vendor/craft fair. I bought me mom and mother in law presents that say grandma! I am so excited to give them their gifts, unfortunately I dont think my mother in law is ever coming back from Kansas, or when she does I'll already be showing! Hopefully Ill give my mommy hers this weekend.
I need to figure out how to get a hold of Danny too, to tell him before he is deployed!

Wednesday 10/10/2012
7 weeks today! I had my first doctor's visit, Jason came with. We saw dr. ka, she was so wonderful! I guess I am suppose to gain 25 lbs at most but I am so hungry! And when I don't eat I feel like I am going to puke, so I better start eating healthy. The ultrasound was amazing! It took like a sec to find the baby and its little heart was flickering! Here is the picture she printed us. It looks kind of like a blob but I am still happy! Best day ever, only 4 weeks till I get to see the bean again!
When I talk about it I keep saying he/him and jason keeps picturing a girl. I wonder who will be right?

Friday 10/5/2012
I am so tired! I had morning practice this morning and I can stay awake to teach. More poor students are getting nothing from me today. I woke up feeling sick to my stomach, ugh. I am sick weeks 2 days today so maybe this is when the morning sickness kicks in. Jason has a few vacation days so he is going to be off Sat-Wed, wednesday is our first appointment. I hope everything is ok. I keep accidently reading sad stories on the babycenter May 2013 club forum. All I can say is... TODAY I AM PREGNANT! :) and try not to worry.
Charlie and Lauren 10/04/2012
I got home from school yesterday and saw a great horned owl. I hooted to him and he flew over me. While writing my thesis I learned that many native american's believe an owl is a messenger or an omen (not always evil like some believe). When Jason got home a few minutes later we talked about Charlie coming over. Jason said jokingly it is because Lauren in pregnant. When Charlie got there we started chatting and I asked "so is Lauren pregnant?" He looked stunned so I said Jason thought she was. AND... he said yes! 6 weeks, which Is exactly what I am suppose to be. It was such a funny conversation because I SO wanted to tell him us too, but Jason told me earlier I am not allowed. He was talking about their baby plans and what doctor she went to. I was in shock it was my doctor's office, how did she get in so fast... my appointment isn't till next week! She is lucky. Its crazy to baby's at the end of May beginning of June! Charlie was so happy but nervous, it was so cute! He made Jason have a drink with him and then he tried to call AJ. Crazy... two babies!
On a side note, I went to wal-mart before i got home and the baby dictated the trip. I think the baby loves its cheese and crackers and orange juice.... much better than the pickles crazings I am scared of!

The Weekend 10/01/12
I did it I finally! I wrote the last chapter of my thesis on Sunday 12 hours of typing-2 hour nap= done! This weekend was great, Jason and I started to talk about names. He has horrible tastes and is very picky but I still love him. He was surprised me with some book he bought on Amazon, it was great seeing him excited. I read a little part of one of the books last night and it was hilarious. I also bought an owl on saturday from kohls, maybe it will serve as inspiration for the nursey to come. It was really hard keeping it from my mom when we had lunch, but I managed. The worst was keeping it from Nikki on Sunday, she wants me to run 5ks with her and I am nervous too. Week 6 is in 2 days!
I have been trying to excerise in the mornings but I feel like I have been hit by a truck, just really tired, but atleast there is no morning sickness...knock on wood!
Here are the books Jason bought...

The Website 9-27-2012
This is the day I decided to start the website. I am kinda liking the teal, orange, and green owl scheme! I took a digital test Last night and it was positive so I am definitely pregnant, it still hasn't sunk in. I see the doctor on 10-10, which should be seven weeks. I am worried about miscarriages, because of people I have known, but I just have to put it out of my mind.
The books ...9-25-2012
I decided monday to go buy some literature on the subject of being pregnant. I got this idea from Ger when Chris and Haley were pregnant and she wanted to buy them "What to expect when expecting". Since I'm new to being pregnant an all I headed to Buy buy baby. I stared at the shelf in the store for awhile definitely feeling like I am not suppose to be in here yet, but I finally picted up three books.
What to expect when expecting.... kinda intimidating
The bump baby book
The pregnancy Keepsake book- to hold pictures and other info.
When I got home, I showed jason. He seemed excited becasue he was on amazon looking up books too:) However when I started flipping through the Keepsake book. It had been written in already and then someone used whiteout to fix it! So back to the store I went and got another one. But what an inconvience! The only sympton I have is I am so exhausted, so going to orland twice in one week after practice was not fun!

Hooray! 9-25-2012
After many months of negotiation Jason and I finally decided to throw caution to the wind and try for a few months. I am a teacher and coach so I want to see if we could plan it to work with my summer vacation. Luckily it didn't take us long, because of all the wonderful advice from all of you guys. 9/22 was the day I expected to get my visit from AF, but I decided to take a test before I left for my XC meet. I saw it start to change and forced myself to look away for 3 minutes. When I looked back it was positive! I squeaked with excitement. I immediately ran into the other room and jumped on Jason in bed! I said guess what! He said you're pregnant! I said I am! I tested again on Sunday the 23 and another positive right before I ran the zoo run! How I wanted to tell Nikki!

I am starting this page, because I want to keep a record of our pregnancy. I am sad that I can't tell anyone yet but I am trying to think of fun ways to do it when I can. I though this might be a fun way to let everone in on our sonogram pictures and nursery planning. I don't think , I'll write all the time but when I am moved to. yay! Sorry if some of this is to much info, but I am really excited if you can't tell!
